Aggravated Assault – Bayshore / Cortland – 03/14/17, 11:00 am
Officers responded to a call of an altercation and located a 58 year old victim who had been struck in the face. He told the officers that he had disembarked the bus and was walking home when the suspect, who had been a fellow passenger on the same coach, suddenly sucker punched him in the eye and ran off. The victim stated that he did not know what provoked the suspect. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170209607)
Auto Theft Attempt Arrest – West Pint / Middle Point – 03/15/17, 3:51 pm
Officers responded to a call of a stolen auto. They were directed by the reporting party to a car parked in a residential lot. There was a subject seated in the vehicle that had no authority to occupy it. The officers approached the suspect and immediately recognized him from another auto theft that occurred in February where he managed to escape arrest. The suspect, found to be in possession of various shaved keys (commonly used to start stolen cars), was arrested and booked on auto theft attempt and possession of burglary tools charges. Burglary Arrest– 1200 block Minnesota – 03/15/17, 4:50 am
Officers responded to a burglary in progress in the garage of a condominium building. The crime was detected and reported by a security officer observing the scene remotely through surveillance cameras. Two suspects were seen making entry into the secure garage area and coming out with bicycles belonging to the building’s residents. Officers located both suspects outside of the building hiding behind a truck. They were in possession of the four stolen bikes as well as burglary tools. Both suspects were arrested and booked on burglary and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 170212398)
Robbery – 3rd / Oakdale – 03/16/17, 1:20 pm
A 24 year old victim was walking to her friends car when a suspect approached her and demanded money that she apparently owed him. The victim knew the suspect from the area and had in fact purchased something from him in the past. The victim told him that she did not have any money, at which point, the suspect struck her multiple times with a cane. The victim’s friend pulled up and managed to get the victim into the car. The suspect followed and stabbed the victim in the arm with a small knife as she sat in the vehicle, warning her not to return to Hunters Point. The victim was driven to SFGH where she reported this incident, which is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170217161)
Hot Prowl Burglary Arrest – 1100 block 19th – 03/16/17, 2:55 am
A resident awoke to the sound of his back door knob jiggling. He looked out his back window and saw two suspects in his back yard. One of the suspects then jumped the fence as the victim called 911. Officers responded and set up a perimeter. One suspect was located on the 400 block of Mississippi carrying stolen property from the victim’s garage. He was arrested. While searching for the second suspect, officers noticed a door leading to a different garage open with various tools in between the door and garage space. A search of the garage revealed the second suspect hiding under a vehicle and was arrested. The resident of the second home identified the tools that the officers found as having been taken out of her garage. Both suspects were booked on hot prowl burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 170215795)
Firearm Arrest – 700 block Kirkwood – 03/16/17, 3:00 pm
After an investigation into a local drug dealer, officers were able to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. They served the warrant and found the suspect to be home. The search of the residence revealed four baggies containing crack cocaine, narcotics paraphernalia, as well as a 9mm pistol. The suspect was arrested and booked on multiple weapons and narcotics charges. (SFPD Case No. 170217597)
Carjacking– unit block Cargo– 03/17/17, 2:30 am
A victim was sitting in his vehicle at Pier 96, waiting to go to work. He got out of his car to stretch his legs and was attacked from behind by the suspects. The victim was struck in the head with an object and was knocked to the ground. The suspect then went through the victim’s pockets, taking his cell phone. The suspect then got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off. The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170219139)
Firearm Arrest – 3rd / LaSalle – 03/18/17, 1:48 am
Officers patrolling the area approached an occupied vehicle that was double parked. Driver, on seeing them, became visibly nervous and attempted to drive off to avoid contact. One officer was able to prevent the suspect from leaving by as the other illuminated passenger compartment with his flashlight. The officer immediately saw a handgun between passenger seat and center console and alerted his partner. The suspect, already on current probation for aggravated assault, was arrested and the loaded .40 cal semi auto, which had been reported as stolen, was recovered. (SFPD Case No. 170222308)
Recovered Firearms – 201 Williams – 03/20/17, 11:48 am
A Bayview resident came to Bayview Station to surrender a 12 gauge shotgun and a 20 gauge shotgun, citing that his spouse no longer wanted them in the home. The desk officer seized both weapons and booked them at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 170222308)
Robbery – 3rd / McKinnon – 03/20/17, 4:07 pm
A 51 year old victim was standing on the sidewalk, showing a bracelet to a relative, when a suspect ran up and snatched it from her. The suspect then ran to gray BMW sedan that was occupied by two other suspects and got in. As the car took off, the victim grabbed the door and ended up being dragged a short distance before falling off. The victim sustained a fracture to her femur as a result of the fall and was treated at the hospital for her injury. This injury is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170229768)
