Incidents of Interest:

 

Aggravated Assault – Bayshore / Cortland 03/14/17, 11:00 am

Officers responded to a call of an altercation and located a 58 year old victim who had been struck in the face. He told the officers that he had disembarked the bus and was walking home when the suspect, who had been a fellow passenger on the same coach, suddenly sucker punched him in the eye and ran off. The victim stated that he did not know what provoked the suspect. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170209607)

 

 

Auto Theft Attempt Arrest – West Pint / Middle Point – 03/15/17, 3:51 pm

Officers responded to a call of a stolen auto. They were directed by the reporting party to a car parked in a residential lot. There was a subject seated in the vehicle that had no authority to occupy it. The officers approached the suspect and immediately recognized him from another auto theft that occurred in February where he managed to escape arrest. The suspect, found to be in possession of various shaved keys (commonly used to start stolen cars), was arrested and booked on auto theft attempt and possession of burglary tools charges. Burglary Arrest– 1200 block Minnesota – 03/15/17, 4:50 am

Officers responded to a burglary in progress in the garage of a condominium building. The crime was detected and reported by a security officer observing the scene remotely through surveillance cameras. Two suspects were seen making entry into the secure garage area and coming out with bicycles belonging to the building’s residents. Officers located both suspects outside of the building hiding behind a truck. They were in possession of the four stolen bikes as well as burglary tools. Both suspects were arrested and booked on burglary and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 170212398)

 

 

Robbery – 3rd / Oakdale – 03/16/17, 1:20 pm

A 24 year old victim was walking to her friends car when a suspect approached her and demanded money that she apparently owed him. The victim knew the suspect from the area and had in fact purchased something from him in the past. The victim told him that she did not have any money, at which point, the suspect struck her multiple times with a cane. The victim’s friend pulled up and managed to get the victim into the car. The suspect followed and stabbed the victim in the arm with a small knife as she sat in the vehicle, warning her not to return to Hunters Point. The victim was driven to SFGH where she reported this incident, which is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170217161)

 

 

Hot Prowl Burglary Arrest – 1100 block 19th – 03/16/17, 2:55 am

A resident awoke to the sound of his back door knob jiggling. He looked out his back window and saw two suspects in his back yard. One of the suspects then jumped the fence as the victim called 911. Officers responded and set up a perimeter. One suspect was located on the 400 block of Mississippi carrying stolen property from the victim’s garage. He was arrested. While searching for the second suspect, officers noticed a door leading to a different garage open with various tools in between the door and garage space. A search of the garage revealed the second suspect hiding under a vehicle and was arrested. The resident of the second home identified the tools that the officers found as having been taken out of her garage. Both suspects were booked on hot prowl burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 170215795)

 

 

Firearm Arrest – 700 block Kirkwood – 03/16/17, 3:00 pm

After an investigation into a local drug dealer, officers were able to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. They served the warrant and found the suspect to be home. The search of the residence revealed four baggies containing crack cocaine, narcotics paraphernalia, as well as a 9mm pistol. The suspect was arrested and booked on multiple weapons and narcotics charges. (SFPD Case No. 170217597)

 

 

Carjacking– unit block Cargo– 03/17/17, 2:30 am

A victim was sitting in his vehicle at Pier 96, waiting to go to work. He got out of his car to stretch his legs and was attacked from behind by the suspects. The victim was struck in the head with an object and was knocked to the ground. The suspect then went through the victim’s pockets, taking his cell phone. The suspect then got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off. The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries. This incident is under investigation.  (SFPD Case No. 170219139)

 

Firearm Arrest – 3rd / LaSalle – 03/18/17, 1:48 am

Officers patrolling the area approached an occupied vehicle that was double parked. Driver, on seeing them, became visibly nervous and attempted to drive off to avoid contact. One officer was able to prevent the suspect from leaving by as the other illuminated passenger compartment with his flashlight. The officer immediately saw a handgun between passenger seat and center console and alerted his partner. The suspect, already on current probation for aggravated assault, was arrested and the loaded .40 cal semi auto, which had been reported as stolen, was recovered. (SFPD Case No. 170222308)

 

Recovered Firearms – 201 Williams – 03/20/17, 11:48 am

A Bayview resident came to Bayview Station to surrender a 12 gauge shotgun and a 20 gauge shotgun, citing that his spouse no longer wanted them in the home. The desk officer seized both weapons and booked them at Bayview Station.   (SFPD Case No. 170222308)

 

Robbery – 3rd / McKinnon – 03/20/17, 4:07 pm

A 51 year old victim was standing on the sidewalk, showing a bracelet to a relative, when a suspect ran up and snatched it from her. The suspect then ran to gray BMW sedan that was occupied by two other suspects and got in. As the car took off, the victim grabbed the door and ended up being dragged a short distance before falling off. The victim sustained a fracture to her femur as a result of the fall and was treated at the hospital for her injury. This injury is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170229768)

Robbery – Rhode Island / 24th 03/07/17, 7:55 am

A 25 year old victim was robbed while walking in the area when two suspects ran up behind her and shoved her to the ground. One of the suspects was armed with a blunt object and stood over her while his accomplice ordered the victim to surrender her phone. The suspect made the victim unlock the phone before handing it over. Both suspects then fled on foot.  Firearm Arrest – 1700 block Armstrong – 03/08/17, 7:45 pm

Officers approached vehicle due to traffic violation and recognized both occupants as “Eddy Rock” gang members. One was on parole for burglary and the other had weapons related contacts.  The suspects attempted to drive away and came close to ramming the patrol car but ultimately surrendered. A loaded 9mm semi automatic, which had been reported stolen, was located in the car. Both suspects booked on their respective weapons, parole violation, and gang enhancement charges.  Shooting– Fitzgerald / Hawes – 03/10/17, 5:00 pm

A 33 year old male victim was brought to SFGH with gunshot wound to his upper thigh.  He told the officers that he was walking on the unit block of Cameron Way when he heard gunfire and felt he was hit. He called a relative who arrived to take him to the hospital. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170199133)

 Firearm Arrest – Vermont / Mariposa – 03/10/17, 5:30 pm

Officers responded to call of a suspect with a gun next to a car and detained several subjects around car with an open trunk. They spotted narcotics inside the passenger compartment and searched the car for additional contraband. Two loaded .40 cal handguns located in the trunk. One gun was registered to one of the suspects detained, but the other was not. The suspect who the car belonged to was booked on weapons violations.  (SFPD Case No. 170199246)

 Armed Robbery  – 1300 block Quesada – 03/10/17, 8:30 pm

Two victims, ages 16 and 19 were sitting in a parked vehicle with windows rolled down. Two suspects approached the pair and tried to sell them marijuana, leaving when the victims refused. One of the suspects then returned, produced a revolver and ordered the victims to surrender their property. The victims, fearing for their life, handed over their cell phones and wallet. The suspect fled on foot. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170199553)

 Robbery  – 1100 block Felton – 03/10/17, 11:20 pm

A 20 year old victim was walking along the street when he noticed white SUV driving slowly behind him. 3 suspects got out of the car and surrounded him. The victim was punched in the face and fell to the ground as the suspects went through his pockets, taking cell phone and keys, before escaping in their vehicle. This incident is under investigation.  Auto Theft Arrest  – Keith / Bancroft– 03/11/17, 9:24 am

Officers patrolling in the area ran a routine record check on the license plate of a car being parked on the roadway. The vehicle came back as having been reported as stolen. The suspect was taken into custody at which point it was discovered that he had two outstanding felony no basil warrants for his arrest. The suspect was booked..  (SFPD Case No. 170200489)

Armed Robbery  – Mendell / Hudson – 03/13/17, 2:40 pm

A 21 year old victim was walking home when he was grabbed from behind and tackled to the ground. The suspect produced a revolver and used it to pistol whip the victim as he ordered him to give up his property. The victim gave suspect his phone and wallet.   (SFPD Case No. 170205627)

Burglary Arrest  – Crisp/Palou – 03/13/17, 2:40 pm

Officers spotted on patrol noticed the suspect seated in a parked car and immediately recognized him as being wanted in connection to a recent burglary that occurred in the Richmond district. They also knew that the suspect was on active parole for burglary as well as on probation with a search condition. They contacted the suspect and detained him pending their investigation. One of the officers recognized the suspect from the surveillance footage of a March 11th burglary that occurred on the 200 block of Napoleon. He was even still wearing the same clothes as in the video. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was searched. The officers located a plethora of burglary tools in the vehicle including multiple crow bars, saws, breaching tools, bolt cutters, and even a hydraulic jack. The suspect was booked on burglary, conspiracy, and parole violation charges.  (SFPD Case No. 170205627)

 Homicide Attempt Arrest – 1000 block Bowdoin 03/02/17, 1:00 am

On February 26th at 1:00 am, Officers responded to an assault that occurred inside of a home on the 1000 block of Bowdoin. They met with the two male victims, ages 35 and 43 who lived in the residence. The officers learned that one of the victims answered the front door after hearing a knock. Two suspects forced their way inside. One of them was armed with a handgun which he used to pistol whip the victim. The victim ran down his hallway as he called to his roommate for help as the suspects chased him and fired a round at him. When the second victim came out of his bedroom to see what was going on, the two suspects, on seeing him, turned and fled the home.

The Gang Task Force took over the investigation and was able to identify the suspects involved. Both suspects were located and taken into custody on March 2nd. (SFPD Case No. 170161778)

 Aggravated Assault – 200 block Napoleon – 03/05/17, 6:00 pm

A 55 year old victim was in a car with an acquaintance when the two began to argue. The suspect got a crowbar from the back seat and struck the victim with it. She got out of the car and the suspect chased her around the vehicle with the crowbar until a motorist stopped to intervene. The suspect then drove from the scene. This incident is under investigation. SFPD Case No. 170184338)

 Auto Burglary Arrest– 23rd / Kansas – 03/05/17, 6:15 pm

Officers responded to a call of a suspect rummaging through a parked vehicle. They found the car with the broken window and the suspect still inside. The owner of the vehicle was located and reported the items that had been taken from the car. The items were recovered in the suspect’s possession. He was booked on auto burglary charges. (SFPD Case No. 17018463)

 Auto Theft, Stolen Property Arrest – Bridgeview / South – 03/6/17, 7:30 am

Officers on patrol in a car equipped with license plate reading technology were alerted to a vehicle on the roadway that had been reported as stolen. The suspect driving the stolen vehicle attempted to pull quickly into a parking garage. The officers arrested the suspect as he exited the vehicle. A search of his person revealed personal property that belonged to other people, who when notified, reported the items as having been stolen. The suspect was booked on auto theft and possession of stolen property charges.  (SFPD Case No. 170185574)

  Recovered Firearm– 1400 block McKinnon – 02/20/17, 8:20 pm

Officers were patrolling in the area of Ingalls and Egbert when they observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area. The car failed to stop at two stop signs prompting the officers to attempt a vehicle stop. On spotting the unit, the suspect took off at a high rate of speed, making several turns in attempt to lose the officers. The officers recognized the suspect from previous encounters. Do to his disregard for public safety, the officers did not engage in a pursuit but continued to search the area for the vehicle. Several minutes later, they found the car, abandoned, on the 1400 block of McKinnon. A loaded .357 revolver was found on the driver’s seat floor board. The gun was seized. The suspect was located and arrested on March 1st and booked on multiple charges related to the incident. (SFPD Case No. 170147104)

 Firearm, Narcotics Arrest – Albatross / Kirkwood – 02/22/17, 6:4 pm

Officers patrolling the area spotted smoke coming from the windows of a parked car and approached the vehicle to investigate. They found the subjects inside 1qsmoking marijuana. One of the subjects was a known “Big Block” gang member. A search of the vehicle was conducted which yielded two loaded 9mm pistols, various pharmaceutical drugs, over 5 grams of crack cocaine, as well as measuring and packaging equipment.  Both suspects were placed under arrest and were booked on weapons and narcotics for sale charges along with a gang enhancement.   (SFPD Case No. 170152896)

 Armed Robbery – Rhode Island / 18th – 02/23/17, 8:00 pm

A 35 year old victim was walking in the area when three suspects ran up to him. One of them got in front of the victim and blocked his path while the other two approached him and began pulling off the satchel that he had slung over his shoulder. The victim resisted and attempted to hold onto the bag at which point one of the suspects produced a handgun, held it to the victims head and threatened to shoot him if he did not let go of the bag. Fearing for his life, the victim complied. All three suspects fled from the scene. A witness who was in the area saw the suspects get into a white sedan at Mariposa and Rhode Island. The vehicle then fled the scene. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170155806)

 Recovered Firearm – 100 block of Scotia – 02/23/17, 12:15 am

Officers responded on a call of a found firearm. A resident had noticed a firearm lying in the street and reported it right away. The officers located the loaded 9mm handgun, with an extended magazine, and seized it. It was booked into evidence for processing to see if it may be related to any reported criminal activity. (SFPD Case No. 170153769)

 Homicide – unit block Westbrook – 02/24/17, 1:50 pm

Officers responded to a call of a shooting and located a 28 year old male victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds, lying on the sidewalk. The officers began emergency first aid until the medics arrived and transported the victim to SFGH where he succumbed to his grave injuries. Officers secured the crime scene and preserved all evidence. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170157636)

 Shooting – 700 block of Missouri – 02/24/17, 12:30 am

Officers responded to SFGH when a male and a female victim, both 22 years old, came in to seek treatment for gunshot wounds to their lower bodies. Both victims told the officers that they were seated in the same car that was parked on the 700 block of Missouri. Another vehicle drove up and stopped beside them and one of the occupants began shooting a handgun in their direction. Both victims were hit as the suspect vehicle sped away. The victim who was driving the car had the ability to transport them to SFGH. The officers were able to locate and secure the crime scene. This incident is under investigation.  Aggravated Assault – 700 block Kirkwood – 02/24/17, 6:25 am

A 49 year old victim was walking in the area when two suspects approached him. One of them was armed with a large piece of wood that he used to strike the victim in the leg. The victim fell and the suspects ran off. The victim did not know the suspects and did not have an idea as to why he was attacked. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170156616)

 Robbery – Bayshore / Waterloo 02/25/17, 10:00 pm

A 31 year old victim of a robbery came in to Bayview Station to report the incident. He stated that while waiting at a bus stop, he was approached by three suspects. Two of them brandished knives at the victim while the third went through his pockets, removing the victim’s cell phone and wallet. The suspects then fled on foot. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170163439)

 Robbery – 2400 block San Bruno 02/26/17, 10:00 am

A 50 year old victim was robbed of her necklace after getting off a bus. She told the responding officers that she had boarded the bus downtown at the same stop as the three suspects. They sat close to her, making her feel uncomfortable on the coach, and got off at the same stop at San Bruno and Felton. The suspects followed her to the 2400 block of San Bruno at which point two of them ran up to her. One of the suspects snatched the necklace from her neck and all three suspects fled the scene on foot. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170162538)

 Aggravated Assault – Silver / Girard 02/27/17, 7:16 am

A 46 year old victim was standing on the sidewalk when the suspect got out of a vehicle that had pulled up and approached him. The suspect was armed with a golf club that he used to strike the victim as he yelled at him to “not go to U-Haul anymore”. The victim recognized the suspect as a day laborer that he had some contact with in the past. The suspect then got back into the vehicle and drove from the scene. This incident is under investigation.  SFPD Case No. 170164904)

Robbery – 2900 block San Bruno 02/27/17, 8:07 am

A 43 year old victim was driving his car in the area when he stopped short due to a car suddenly backing from a driveway. The victim honked to warn the other driver, who in response began yelling profanities at him as she continued to back her car up. The victim finally went around the other car and proceeded to a nearby gas station, where he pulled in for gas. Suddenly, the backing vehicle pulled up at the gas station and the suspect driver got out. She began yelling at the victim and smacked him in the face. She then got onto the hood of his car and began to beat on the vehicle. When the victim attempted to remove the suspect, he was attacked by three other suspects who seemed to appear out of nowhere. All three shoved the victim to the ground and began beating him until a bystander’s shout scared them off. All of the suspects fled the scene at which point the victim realized that his cell phone had been stolen from his pocket during the altercation.  Firearm Arrest –Kirkwood / 3rd – 02/27/17, 8:00 pm

Officers stopped a car for a traffic violation and on contacting the driver, noticed that the passenger had a bag of marijuana in his lap. When asked if there were any other drugs or weapons in the car, the driver told the officers that there were handguns in the vehicle. The officers removed the occupants and searched the vehicle. The found a loaded 40 caliber pistol on the driver’s floorboard and a second loaded 380 semi automatic wedged between the passenger seat and center consul. (SFPD Case No. 170167033)

The victim and suspect got into a road rage incident where the suspects’ car cut in front of the victims car. While both vehicles were stopped, the suspect exited his vehicle, opened the victims door and stole the victims dash camera and took $700 from the victims pocket before fleeing northbound on 3rd St. This case is under investigation. Officers observed a parked car with marijuana smoke emanating from inside the car. Officers initiated an investigative stop and detained the vehicles occupants. Officers searched the vehicle and found marijuana, a loaded gun, and bullet casings. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for firearm possession. (SFPD Case No. 170126023)

Attempted Murder – Donahue St/Jerrold Ave – 02/13/17, 08:54 pm

The victim’s vehicle was followed out of double rock by the suspects’ vehicle. The suspect shot at and chased the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle crashed and the suspect drove by and shot one of the victims in the head and another victim in the leg/foot before driving off in an unknown direction. The 56 year old victim was unloading items from his parked car into his house. While the victim was transporting items to his house, the victim’s brother observed the suspect trying to steal the car. The victim’s brother confronted the suspect. The suspect punched the victim’s brother in the face, and threw an object at the car breaking the window before fleeing southbound on Bridgeview Dr. This case is under investigation. Officers observed a vehicle driving with a headlight not working properly. The Officers pulled over the car. A records check revealed that the driver had an expired license and several outstanding warrants. The suspect was arrested for the outstanding warrants and his vehicle was towed. The 31 year old victim was pumping gas at the gas station when he was approached by the suspect who put a gun to the victims neck and stated, “Give me your money, don’t move.” A second suspect approached the victim, stole his wallet, and pushed the victim in the back. Both suspects fled in an unknown direction. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170135585)

The three victims were working in a warehouse when two suspects ran inside with guns out, ordered the victims to get on the ground, and robbed the victims of their wallet, cash, and iPhone before fleeing the scene. The 35 year old victim showed up at SFGH with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm. The victim stated that he was sitting in his car when the masked suspect approached his car, shot the victim, and fled the scene. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170136555)

Found Property – 4800 block of 3rd St 02/18/17, 01:20 pm

An anonymous citizen flagged down Officers and informed them of a group of people hanging out on the corner who might have a gun. Officers approached the group and the group quickly fled the scene. Upon searching the area, Officers found a plastic bag with a gun in it. Officers seized the gun and booked it for safekeeping at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 170140330)

Robbery – Silliman St/Holyoke St 02/18/17, 06:30 pm

The 46 year old victim parked his car and was talking on the phone while he walked home when he felt a hard object strike him in the head causing him to fall to the floor. The victim then felt two suspects kick him all over his body. While on the victim was on the ground, the suspects stole the victim’s wallet and cellphone before fleeing eastbound on Silliman St. The victim transported himself to SFGH where he reported the incident to the police. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to his head, neck, back, and legs. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170141695)

The 32 year old victim was sitting in his car when the suspect drove by and fired multiple shots into the victim’s car striking the victim in the stomach and leg. The victim transported himself to SFGH where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers at the scene located numerous fired casings. This case is under investigation. The Two Victims boarded the MUNI LRV and got into an argument with the Suspect. During the course of the argument, the Suspect pulled out a gun and shot one of the victims. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. The suspect ran off the bus and fled the scene.  The suspect was arrested at a later date.  (SFPD Case No. 170113199)

While on patrol, Officers witnessed a car perform and illegal turn. The Officers pulled over the car and a records check revealed that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and was as a person on Parole with a search condition. A search of the vehicle resulted in the Officers recovering burglary tools. The suspect was cited for the traffic violation and the burglary tool was confiscated and book as evidence for safe keeping at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 170114200)

The 20 year old victim was walking her dog in the park when the suspect began to harass the victim. The victim tried to ignore the suspect which made him more agitated and he kicked the victim’s dog. The victim left the park with her dog and called 911. When the Officers arrived, they met the victim who pointed out the suspect who was still in the park. Officers made contact with the suspect. A records check revealed that the suspect was on probation for aggravated assault. The suspect was arrested for battery and a probation violation. (SFPD Case No. 170122388)

The 45 year old victim was walking down the street when he was approached by three suspects who ask the victim for his money. Once of the suspects grabbed the victim and pushed him to the ground causing the victim to break his arm. A passerby in a car scarred off the three suspects before they could rob the victim. The victim was transported to SFGH for treatment. (SFPD Case No. 170121750)

The two victims were leaving McLaren park when they were approached by two suspects with guns. The suspects punched one of the victims in the face, robbed the victims of their jewelry and cash before fleeing westbound into the park. (SFPD Case No. 170123455)

The victim’s car was followed as it exited the Alice Griffith Housing Project. The suspect shot at the victim’s car. A car chase ensued, the victim’s vehicle crashed, and the suspect shot at the car striking two of the three victims before fleeing the scene. The 18 year old victim responded to a Craigslist ad to purchase an iPhone. The victim corresponded with the “seller” and made arrangements to meet up. The victim met the “seller” at the corner of 23rd St and Dakota St where the “seller” punched the victim 3 times in the face, stole his money, and fled in a waiting car. The 20 year old victim was approached by the suspect and asked “where are you from”? The suspect then told the victim to “come out of his pockets” and began to punch the victim in the face 6-7 times knocking him to the ground. While the victim was on ground, a second suspect went through the victims pockets, stole his iPhone and wallet, and both suspects fled in a car. Officers responded to the scene, canvassed the area and located the suspects. The suspects were arrested and charged for the robbery and assault. (SFPD Case No. 170096454)

Robbery Arrest – Oakdale Ave/Newhall St – 01/25/17, 01:00 pm

The 56 year old victim was walking down the street when the suspect came up from behind and punched the victim in the head seven times, knocking the victim to the ground. During the attack, the suspect stole the victim’s cellphone and hat. The suspect fled eastbound on Oakdale Ave. About 15 minutes later, an Officer responded to the area of Newhall St. and McKinnon Ave. for a report of a suspect harassing people. The suspect was detained and after investigation (witness ID), it was determined that the suspect was the same suspect who robbed the victim. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to county jail. The victim’s property was returned to her. (SFPD Case No. 170068760)

Aggravated Assault – Ingerson Ave/Ingalls St – 01/25/17, 06:15 pm

The 30 year old victim was walking down the street when he was approached from behind by the suspect who stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife and ran westbound towards 3rd St. The responding Officers called for ambulance and took the victims statement. The victim was transported to SFGH for treatment. Officers searched the area for the suspect, witnesses, and video surveillance. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170069774)

Weapon Possession, Prohibited Person – Dakota St/25th St – 01/25/17, 07:11 pm

Officers responded to a security alarm activation when they observed the suspect wearing dark clothing fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Officers activated their sirens and pulled the suspect over. A records search revealed that the motorcycles registration was expired and that the suspect was on active probation with a search condition. Upon searching the suspect, a firearm and narcotics were found. The suspect was arrested for possession of a weapon by a prohibited person and narcotics charges.  (SFPD Case No. 170069978)

The 40 year old victim was walking down the street when she was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect grabbed the victim’s hair and attempted to take her cellphone. During the struggle, the suspect cut the victims arm with an unknown object, and fled northbound on Hawes St. towards Fitzgerald Ave. This case is still under investigation. Robbery – Dunshee St/Oakdale Ave – 01/15/17, 07:10 am

The 51-year old victim was walking home when she noticed the suspect following her. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse from behind. As the victim struggled with the suspect over the purse, the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, took the purse, and fled on westbound on Oakdale Ave. The responding Officers canvased the area for the suspect and witnesses with negative results. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170038876)

Robbery – 400 block of Bayshore Blvd – 01/16/17, 01:27 pm

Officers were dispatched to a purse snatching at Lowe’s Home Improvement. The 57-year old victim was walking in front of the store when the suspect came from behind, pushed the victim to the ground, grabbed the victim’s purse, and fled in an unknown direction. The responding Officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results. An ambulance was called and the victim was treated for minor injuries. This case is under investigation. Robbery – 1100 block of Palou Ave – 01/16/17, 02:10 pm

While on patrol, Officers met with the 29-year old victim regarding a robbery. The victim was walking down the street when he saw the suspect exit the rear of a vehicle and approach him. As the suspect approached the victim, the suspect told the victim to drop everything. A struggle ensued, the suspect grabbed the victims cellphone, and ran East on Palou Ave toward the waiting car occupied by two other suspects. During the initial investigation, the robbery vehicle was seen on video surveillance entering, and later exiting, the Alice Griffith Housing Project. While exiting the store, the suspect was asked by store security for a receipt to show proof of purchase for the items the suspect had in her possession. The suspect refused and walked away. The two victims were loading their property into their parked car when they were approached by the suspect. As the suspect approached, he pulled out a silver handgun and instructed a second and third suspect to take the victims property.  All three suspects ran westbound on Palou Ave from Hawes St. This case is under investigation. While pumping gas at the gas station, the victim was sprayed with pepper spray by the suspect after the suspect accused the victim of “looking at her boyfriend”. Medics treated the victim for her injuries. This case is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 170048245)

Robbery Arrest – Silver Ave/San Bruno Ave – 01/19/17, 03:00 am

The victim was sitting at the bus stop when the suspect approached the victim, took the victim’s wallet from his right front pocket, and fled southbound on Silver Ave. The victim called 911 and dispatch broadcast the suspect description. Officers arrived in the area looking for the suspect and located him. The suspect was drunk and did not remember why he had the victim’s wallet in his possession. The suspect was arrested and booked on robbery charges. (SFPD Case No. 170049958)

Firearm Discharge – Whitfield Ct/La Salle Ave – 01/21/17, 09:42 am

Officers responded to a shotspotter activation. Upon arrival, Officers interviewed a witness who stated that he saw a white 4dr sedan, with 2 occupants, driving eastbound on La Salle Ave towards Osceola when the passenger leaned out of the window and began shooting in the direction of Whitfield Ct. The witness heard at least six shots. Officers canvassed the area looking for victims, witnesses, and property damage to no avail. Officers located nine spent bullets. The spent bullets were booked into evidence at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 170056317)

Firearm Discharge – 1100 block of Fitzgerald Ave – 01/21/17, 08:47 pm

Officers responded to a shotspotter activation. Upon arrival, Officers detained and interviewed three suspects in the area where the shotspotter activation occurred. The area was searched for any victims, witnesses, additional suspects, or property damage to no avail. Five spent bullet casings were found near where the suspects where contacted by the Officers. The spent bullet casings were booked into evidence at Bayview Station. The three suspects were interviewed and released. (SFPD Case No. 170057989)

While conducting a traffic stop, Officers heard what appeared to be gun shots being fired from the building behind them. Dispatch alerted the Officers that there was a shotspotter activation in the area. Officers responded to the area where the gunshots were heard and searched for suspects, witnesses, damaged property, and evidence with negative results. (SFPD Case No. 170058244)
