.Auto Theft Arrest – 300 block Bayshore – 4/29/16, 1:12 pm                       Officers patrolling the area observed a subject pushing a motorcycle along the sidewalk. On seeing the unit, the subject pushed the motorcycle into a doorway and walked away. The officers, finding his actions odd and noticing that the bike had no license plate attached, stopped to investigate. The ignition of the motorcycle had been punched, indicating that it had been stolen. A record check of the VIN confirmed that it in fact had been recently stolen. They radioed the suspect’s description to units in the area who began a search. A local business owner told the officers that a subject matching the description had walked into his establishment and asked to use the restroom. When he was denied, the suspect put on a hat and changed his shirt before walking out. The officers found the suspect, in his changed apparel, walking nearby where he was positively identified and arrested. The suspect had multiple warrants for his arrest and was booked on his warrants and auto theft charges. (SFPD Case No. 160330325)


Firearms Arrest– Griffith / Gilman– 4/29/16, 3:50 pm

Officers responded to the Gilman and Griffith on a tip that a silver SUV was seen driving in the area with the occupant flashing a handgun out of the window. While searching in the area, a shots fired incident occurred on the 1000 block of Gilman. Officers found rounds in the streets and a parked car damaged by gunfire. They learned that several suspects that had been involved were seen running into a unit on the 1000 block of Fitzgerald. They were familiar with the residents of that unit and went to the home where they detained several suspects and froze the scene pending a search warrant. Other officers located the silver vehicle in question parked on the 800 block of Ingerson. They waited in an area of concealment and watched as two suspects approached the vehicle and began to make entry. On detaining the pair, one of them attempted to ditch the keys to the car. The officers searched the vehicle and recovered a loaded .40 cal pistol. The warrant for the residence was issued and the house was searched, leading to the recovery of a .22 cal assault rifle and a .357 revolver. Of the seven subjects detained, the officers’ investigation into the shooting and weapons led to the arrest and booking of two of the suspects on multiple weapons related charges.  Robbery – Innes / Newhall – 4/29/16, 8:40 pm

A 40 year old victim was stabbed during a robbery that occurred at Innes and Newhall. The victim had withdrawn money from an ATM on 3rd and was walking to a restaurant when a suspect approached him and demanded his cash. The victim told the suspect that he had none at which point the suspect stabbed him in the abdomen and removed the money from the victim’s pocket before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to the hospital where the hospital staff reported the incident to the police. This incident is under investigation.  (SFPD Case No. 160352056)


 Recovered Firearms– 1700 block 25th – 4/29/16, 11:15 pm                           

Officers responded to a home on a well being check and met with the resident. The incident, its type confidential in nature, led to the seizure of a 9mm handgun from inside the home that was booked into evidence. (SFPD Case No. 160352272)


Narcotics Arrest – 3rd / Shafter – 5/1/16, 12:30 am

Officers responded to a vehicle accident involving one car into that collided with the center median. The driver was uninjured but had a suspended license and a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed several bindles of cocaine powder in his pocket. He was booked on the traffic and warrant violations along with the narcotics charges.  Narcotics Arrest – Bowman / Keith – 5/1/16, 4:20 pm

Officers responded on a call of a suspicious vehicle and found a subject asleep inside of the car in question with a knife on his lap. They detained the individual and had him step out of the vehicle at which point a used glass meth pipe fell from his pocket. The suspect was placed under arrest and searched along with his car. The officers located multiple vials of methamphetamine individually packaged for the purpose of sales. The suspect was booked on narcotics related charges. (SFPD Case No. 160357131)


 Firearm Arrest– unit block Harbor– 5/1/16, 11:00 pm

Officers patrolling in the area noticed a car full of subjects parked on the unit block of Harbor. The officers recognized one of the subjects and knew that he was on active probation with a search condition. They detained the group and in the course of identifying the remainder of the individuals, were given false information by one. A loaded 9mm handgun was recovered from the vehicle. The gun had an obliterated serial number. The offices’ investigation led to the arrest of two of the subjects, who were booked on weapons and warrant charges.  (SFPD Case No. 160357921)


Recovered Firearm– 2200 block McKinnon– 5/2/16, 1:00 pm

A 38 caliber revolver was turned into the police by a cab driver who claimed to that a mechanic at the cab lot had found the weapon while cleaning the taxi. The officers were able to make contact with the last driver of the cab who was able to provide a possible suspect description of the individual who left the gun in the car. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160359278)


  Shots Fired– Watchman/Missouri, Turner Ter/ Missouri– 4/29/16, 9:30 am

Officers responded to a call of shots fired where a resident of the unit block of Watchman alerted them to several bullet holes made to the outside of the unit. None of the rounds had penetrated into the interior of the residence. Several minutes later, more shots rang out in the area of 700 Missouri with witnesses stating that a subject was seen running down the street with a handgun. Several spent casings were located on the unit block of Turner Terrace. The officers searched the area for possible victims, suspects and additional damage but were unable to locate any that day. No injuries were reported as a result of these incidents.  (SFPD Case No. 160368627, 160361637)


 Aggravated Assault– 1600 block Palou– 5/3/16, 4:40 pm

Officers responded on a call of an assault and located two victims, ages 35 and 47, bleeding from injuries to their faces and heads. The officers were told that both victims had just arrived from work and were standing near their parked truck when a suspect walked over and began urinating near one of the tires. One of the victims confronted the suspect regarding this behavior and the suspect took offence. He left and returned with four other suspects who jumped the two victims. The victims were punched multiple times and kicked while on the ground. One of the suspects pepper sprayed the pair prior to fleeing the scene with her accomplices. Both victims were treated for their injuries at SFGH. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160362839)


 Hot Prowl Burglary Attempt– 500 block Dwight– 5/4/16, 11:20 am

A resident called the police to report that someone was trying to break into his home. Officers arrived and cleared the residence. No intruders were located but a lower window had been broken. The victim stated that he had been inside the home when he heard glass break and immediately called the police. The burglar had apparently been scared away by the sound of the approaching sirens. The officers found the item used to break the glass along with the car that the suspect used to stand on to access the window. Both items were seized for evidence processing. The officers searched the area for the suspects(s) but were unable to locate any that day. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160365106)


 Narcotics Arrest– 1700 block Quesada– 5/4/16, 7:50 pm

Officers detained a group of subjects for gambling when they spotted them playing dice against the wall. One of the subjects had his car parked in a way that blocked the entire sidewalk. On his release, instead of going to his vehicle, he began to walk away. Finding this odd, one of the officers approached the car and in doing so was immediately met with a strong odor of marijuana that was detectable even through the closed door. The car was unlocked and the officers conducted a search of the vehicle based on his probable cause to believe that it contained narcotics. The officer found a large quantity of marijuana, a digital scale, a 16 oz bottle of promethazine hydrochloride, and over $1,600 in cash. There was mail in the car addressed to the subject who had been detained and chose to walk away instead of toward his parked car. The officers located the suspect on 3rd St and arrested him. He was booked on narcotics for sale charges. (SFPD Case No. 160366706)


 Robbery Arrest– 1100 block Connecticut– 5/5/16, 5:05 pm

On 4/27/16, and inspector from Mission Station, who was investigating a robbery in that district, sent over video footage of the incident to see if any Bayview officers were able to identify the suspect. One of the officers was very familiar with the suspect and immediately made the ID. On 5/5/16, the officer spotted the suspect on the 1100 block of Connecticut and placed him under arrest. He was booked on robbery charges stemming from the original incident from the Mission District. (SFPD Case No. 160321534)


 Bayview Station holds community meetings with the Captain on the first Tuesday of each month. Due to Elections, June’s meeting will be held on the first Wednesday.
