On April 5th, 2016, the San Francisco Police Department was notified that Nicole Fitts and her 2 year old daughter Arianna Fitts went missing. Nicole was last seen on April 1, 2016.

On April 8, Nicole was found deceased as a victim of a homicide. Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation and information continuously developing, we cannot disclose further details on how she was located.

Her daughter Arianna has not been seen since late February, and is considered at-risk due to her young age and suspicion of foul play.

Nicole and Arianna were reported to frequent the San Francisco, San Mateo, Oakland/Emeryville, Fresno, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley Areas, as well as various locations in Southern California. We are providing several photos of young Arianna.

The San Francisco Police Department has been dedicating numerous resources around the clock to this investigation. Even so, we are asking for the public’s help in bringing Arianna home.

Aggravated Assault, Firearm Arrest – 1300 block Evans – 4/8/16, 8:10 pm

Officers responded to a call of shots fired and met with the victim in the post officer parking lot. He told the officers that he was seated in his car when he looked in his rear window and saw a suspect vehicle stop in the street. He saw the flash of a muzzle and realized the occupant of the car had just fired several shots in his direction before speeding off. Officers searched for the vehicle and found it driving in the area of Illinois and Amador. They conducted a stop of the vehicle on the 3000 block of 3rd, detaining the driver. Other officers located another victim who stated that he had been walking his dog along Amador St. when the vehicle pulled up to him and the driver fired several shots at him as well, fortunately missing. Both victims positively identified the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody. A .380 caliber handgun was located in the car. The suspect was booked on aggravated assault with a gun along with related charges. (SFPD Case No. 160290707)


 Narcotics Arrests– 3rd/Newcomb– 4/8/16, 10:15 pm

Officers conducted a well being check of a subject slumped observed in a parked car. On rousing him, they realized that he was extremely inebriated and combative. Crack cocaine was found in his possession and he was booked on the alcohol and narcotics offenses. (SFPD Case No. 160290923)


 Burglary Arrest – unit block Lockwood – 4/9/16, 11:50 am

Officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a building at the Hunters Point Shipyard that was being streamed live to the reporting party from their surveillance feed. The suspect was found in the building and promptly took off after the police arrived. He ran outside and jumped in a boat which he proceeded to attempt to paddle away. The activity proved too strenuous and the suspect surrendered into the custody of the officers. They located bolt cutters in the boat which he had used to cut a chain to gain entry into the building. The suspect was booked on burglary charges. (SFPD Case No. 160292101)


Robbery– 3rd / Jerrold – 4/9/16, 8:45 pm

A 40 year old victim was robbed after arriving to his workplace to conduct a check on operational procedures. As he was taking something from his car, a suspect approached him and punched him in the face. The victim dropped the cell phone that he had been holding to punch the suspect back. This enraged the suspect who quickly produced a knife from his pocket and slashed the victim in the cheek and arm. The suspect then stole the victim’s cell phone and laptop bag from out of the car and took off on foot. The victim transported himself to Kaiser Hospital where the staff notified the police of the crime. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160160293723)


Robbery– 3rd / Innes – 4/10/16, 12:30 am

A 24 year old victim was waiting at the bus stop when he was approached by three suspects. The suspects attempted to take away his cell phone at which point the victim got into a physical confrontation with all three. During the fight, one of the suspects stabbed the victim in the leg. He was transported to SFGH for treatment. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160293892)


Robbery– 3rd / Palou – 4/10/16, 6:10 pm

A 42 year old victim reported having been robbed immediately after exiting a Muni light rail coach. A suspect ran into him with a bicycle, causing him to fall to the ground while the suspect’s accomplice reached into the victim’s pocket and removed his wallet. Both suspects then fled the scene. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160295791)


Armed Robbery– 3rd / Galvez – 4/9/16, 8:40 pm

Three victims, ages 21 – 47, were walking in the area when they observed a pedestrian place something on the ground. Two suspects who were walking behind the pedestrian immediately picked up the item from the ground and began walking away with it. The victims, believing that the suspects had just stolen from the pedestrian, confronted the pair. Both suspects lifted their jackets, brandishing the butts of the handguns that each had in his respective waistband. They then ordered the victims to surrender their property. The victims, in fear for their life, threw their valuables to the ground. The suspects picked the items up and fled the scene on foot. This incident is under investigation. Firearm Arrest– 1400 block Oakdale – 4/11/16, 6:45 pm

Officers responded to a call of shots fired and learned from witnesses in the area that a vehicle was involved and that a gun was in fact fired. They obtained the description of the car along with occupants and went in search of it. They located the vehicle driving along Lane and stopped the car from which a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol was recovered. Two suspects were taken into custody and booked on weapons and assault related charges.  (SFPD Case No. 160299038)


Auto Theft Arrest– Cesar Chavez / Pennsylvania – 4/11/16, 9:55 pm

Officers patrolling in the area stopped a car for not having a license plate affixed. The driver was extremely agitated and animated, at one point asking if she was going to jail and stating that she did not steal the car. A record check of the VIN revealed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen. She was arrested and booked on auto theft charges.   (SFPD Case No. 160299276)


Carjacking Arrest– 3800 block 3rd – 4/12/16, 9:30 am

A 20 year old victim stopped at a service station and approached the convenience store where the clerk was. Two suspects, who had also driven into the service station, approached him and forcefully robbed him of his watch and neck chain. One of them then ran into the victim’s vehicle and drove it from the scene followed by the second suspect in the suspect’s vehicle. The responding officers quickly determined that the service station had video surveillance and reviewed the footage. One of the sharp eyed officers recognized the suspect’ s vehicle from previous contacts and happened to have the plate number which came back registered to a residence on the 1200 block of Egbert.  He also knew that the owner of the vehicle frequented the Alice Griffith Housing Development. They put this information out to other units as they responded to the home on Egbert. They found the suspect vehicle parked outside, unoccupied. Another unit went to search for the suspects in the area of the Alice Griffith Housing Development and spotted the two suspects, who matched the description provided, walking on Nichols Way.  They were able to detain one of the suspects immediately and apprehended the second after a foot chase. Both were positively identified by the victim of the carjacking. The suspects had some of the property stolen from the victim in their possession. They were arrested and booked on carjacking, robbery and conspiracy charges. The victim’s stolen vehicle was located several blocks away. (SFPD Case No. 160300124)


Firearm Arrest– unit block Cameron – 4/14/16, 8:20 pm

Officers patrolling in the Alice Griffith Housing development spotted a subject ducking into a home after noticing the patrol vehicle approaching. The officers were familiar with the residence and its occupant, who was on active probation with a search condition for firearm possession. They decided to conduct a probation search of the residence. They knocked, got no response, and found the door to be unlocked. They found the subject inside. They conducted their probation search of the residence and continued it to his vehicle outside. Inside the car, the officers located a loaded .45 caliber handgun with a high capacity 27 round magazine. The suspect was booked on weapons related charges. (SFPD Case No. 160308093)
