Bayview Enforcement Action 3/23/16 – 3/29/16

 The annual Spring Celebration Eggstravaganza at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park was held on Saturday, March 26. The family friendly event featured egg hunts, carnival rides, games, live entertainment, and an annual barbecue rib cook-off between Rec and Park, San Francisco Police and the San Francisco Fire Department. Bayview Station won awards for the excellent desserts and side dishes prepared by our own Officer Victor Silveira! Here are some photos from the event:


Arson Arrest– Iowa / 23rd – 3/21/16, 12:30 am

Officers patrolling in the area smelled smoke and proceeded to locate the source. They were flagged down by a bus driver who reported that a suspect was starting a fire underneath the overpass. The officers located the blaze on Iowa between 23rd and 22nd along with the suspect who hid behind a concrete barrier on seeing the patrol car. He was detained and found to have a lighter in the possession. He admitted to setting the shrubbery on fire and was placed under arrest. He was booked on arson charges. (SFPD Case No. 160234589)


Shooting – LaSalle / 3rd – 3/22/16, 11:40 pm

Officers responded to a call of a shooting and located a crime scene which they preserved. A short time later, CHP stopped a car that was on its way to SFGH with the 34 year old male victim of the shooting. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder and was transported to SFGH by ambulance for treatment. Officers secured all evidence and witness statements. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160240928)


Auto Theft Arrest – unit block Osceola – 3/25/16, 3:00 am

Officers stopped a car for a traffic violation and on conducting a record check, discovered that the vehicle had been reported as stolen. The driver was arrested and found to have an outstanding burglary warrant for his arrest. The suspect was found to have a key ring with over 20 different ignition keys in his possession. He was booked on auto theft charges along with his warrant. (SFPD Case No. 160246556)


Robbery Arrest – 850 Bryant – 3/18/16, 3:20 pm

Bayview inspectors identified the suspect involved in a two separate robberies that occurred in early March in the 3rd/Evans area. Through an investigation, the officers were able to determine that the suspect had a court date on March 18th at the Hall of Justice for a completely different robbery arrest. They showed up at the hearing and took him into custody. He was booked on multiple robbery and aggravated assault charges.   (SFPD Case No. 160210545)


Firearm Arrest – 1200 block Gilman – 3/26/16, 12:20 am

Officers patrolling the area spotted a subject face down in the street. They immediately approached to render aid and to determine if the subject was possibly a victim of an assault. The subject was unresponsive and smelled strongly of alcohol. During the officers’ search for injuries to his body, they located a loaded .25 caliber pistol in his waistband. The subject did not appear to have any apparent injuries and was transported to SFGH where he was assessed and ultimately cleared. The suspect, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing weapons, was booked on multiple weapons related charges. (SFPD Case No. 160249522)


Armed Robbery Arrest – Missouri / Turner Terrace – 3/26/16, 12:50 pm

Officers patrolling in the area spotted a suspect that had been identified in two separate robbery incidents that occurred on March 19th on the 600 block of Connecticut and on March 20th on the unit block of Watchman. The suspect, a parolee, was arrested without incident. He was booked on motile counts of armed robbery.  (SFPD Case No. 160234313)


Aggravated Assault Arrest – Evans / Middlepoint – 3/27/16, 3:45 am

Officers responded to a call of an assault and met with a victim who had been struck in the head with a baseball bat. The 56 year old victim stated that he had observed two subjects fighting in the street and intervened to break it up when one of the subjects struck him with the bat before both of them fled. The victim was transported to SFGH for treatment. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160252478)


Shots Fired – Wisconsin / Connecticut – 3/28/16, 8:10 am

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area where a silver Lexus sedan was seen speeding from the scene. The officers located four parked vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire along with spent shell casings in the street but found no victims or suspects. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident which is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160255375)


Firearm Arrest – unit block Matthew Ct. – 3/29/16, 9:00 am

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance and made an arrest. Their subsequent investigation led them to a search of the suspect’s vehicle where a loaded 9mm pistol was discovered. The suspect, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing weapons, was booked on multiple charges stemming from the original incident along with the firearm violations. (SFPD Case No. 160258341)


Narcotics Arrests – 3rd btw Palou and Mendell – 3/29/16, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Officers were conducting a narcotics abatement operation in the area of 3rd and Palou in response to the rampant drug activity in the area. The operation yielded in the arrest of multiple suspects involved in dealing narcotics in four separate incidents.  At 8:30 am, a marijuana dealer was arrested for selling the drug to a buyer on the 4700 block of 3rd. Marijuana and currency were recovered. The dealer was booked and the buyer was cited from the scene. Another transaction was witnessed on the 4800 block of 3rd St at 9:40 am where the dealer was arrested and the buyer was cited. Marijuana and currency were recovered in this incident as well. At 11:10 am, another suspect was arrested for marijuana sales at 3rd and Palou with marijuana and currency recovered and the buyer cited. Finally, at 1:00 pm, a fourth suspect was arrested for dealing marijuana on Oakdale and Mendell. This incident, like the previous incidents, the dealer was arrested, the buyer was cited, and marijuana and money was recovered. All four dealers were booked on narcotics for sales charges. Robbery – San Bruno / Paul – 3/29/16, 6:40 pm

An 18 year old victim was standing at the bus stop while holding her cell phone when a suspect ran up to her, grabbed her cell phone from her hand, and yanked it away. The suspect then fled on foot. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160260318)


Bayview Station holds community meetings with the Captain on the first Tuesday of each month.

The next Community meeting will be at 6PM on  Tuesday, April 5th
