Robbery Attempt– Newcomb / Selby – 3/8/16, 11:40 pm

A 35 year old victim was asleep in the driver’s seat of his parked car when he awoke to a suspect trying his door handle. The suspect demanded money and the victim exited the vehicle. The suspect produced a knife and pointed it at the victim who in turn pulled out his cell phone and began calling the police. The victim then turned from the suspect and began walking away while making the call. The suspect followed him, begging him not to call the police before turning and running from the scene. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160200944)


Robbery – Evans / Middle Point – 3/9/16, 1:10 pm

A 27 year old victim was out for a walk when he was approached by two suspects who began chatting him up. When the victim attempted to walk away from them, one of the suspects informed him that this was a robbery and demanded the victim’s phone. The victim refused and the suspects wrestled him to the ground and forcefully removed his phone from his pocket. They then fled the scene. This incident is under investigation. Aggravated Assault Arrest – Napoleon / Evans – 3/9/16, 4:54 pm

Plainclothes officers recognized a subject on active felony probation sitting in the driver’s seat of a car, talking with a person on the sidewalk. The pulled up behind his vehicle and approached the driver’s window. The officer at the window advised the suspect that they would be conducting a probation search and reached into the window to open the door. The suspect stepped on the accelerator and took off, dragging the officer whose hand was stuck in the window. The officer was finally able to free his hand as the suspect continued driving with his driver’s door completely open. The officers got into their patrol car and gave chase but soon terminated the pursuit in the interest of public safety. The suspect was reported to have crashed the car several minutes later on the unit block of South Park and fled the scene, leaving the car. Heroin was found inside the vehicle. Officers searching the area located the suspect at 2nd and Market where he was taken into custody. He was booked on aggravated assault, hit and run, narcotics, and probation violation charges. Narcotics Arrest – 1700 block Quesada – 3/10/16, 9:50 am

Officers patrolling in the area spotted subject in the driver’s seat of a stopped vehicle that they recognized as being on active probation. He was in a known drug area and they approached his car to speak with him. On opening the door, the officers immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana. The suspect admitted to having the drug in the car. The officers located the marijuana in the center consul of the vehicle and arrested the suspect. He was cited and released from the scene. Robbery – 1400 block Van Dyke – 3/10/16, 11:40 pm

A 27 year old victim was walking home while talking on her cell phone when she noticed that she was being followed by four suspects. The frightened victim began to run and two of the suspects gave chase. One of the suspect shoved her to the ground as the other picked up the cell phone that she dropped. All four suspects then fled on foot. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160206259)

Bayview Station holds community meetings with the Captain on the first Tuesday of each month.
