Robbery, Assault Arrest – Illinois / Amador – 3/1/16, 11:30 am

Officers responded to a call of an altercation and were flagged down by an assault victim who pointed out the suspect and the second victim further down the street. He stated that the suspect had struck him in the head with a heavy item. The officers detained the suspect and spoke with the second victim, who the suspect had struck in the jaw. He told the officers that he had been skateboarding in the area and listening to music when the suspects approached him and swung a piece of metal wrapped in a neck tie at him. The victim ran from the suspect who then stole his skateboard. The suspect, at the time the officers stopped him, still had the skateboard and the homemade slung-shot in his possession. He was booked on aggravated assault and robbery charges. (SFPD Case No. 160179060)

Robbery – University / Wayland – 3/1/16, 9:00 pm

A 30 year old victim was walking in the area when a suspect ran up to her and grabbed the purse that had had slung over her shoulder. She fought to keep her bag at which point the suspect punched her in the head, causing her to fall. He then snatched her necklace from her neck and ran off with her purse. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160180857)

Burglary Arrest – 3800 block 3rd – 3/1/16, 9:40 pm

Officers responded to a call for assistance from a security officer at Bayview Plaza. He had a suspect detained and explained that the suspect had broken into the security office and stole a flashlight and pepper spray. The security guard explained that after completing his rounds, he walked to the office and found the door locked and the knob tampered with. The suspect suddenly opened the officer door and ran past the guard. The guard in turn chased him down and tackled him to the ground where the suspect dropped the stolen items. The suspect was arrested and booked on burglary charges. (SFPD Case No. 160180954)

 Firearm Arrest – 1700 block Newcomb – 3/2/16, 1:13 pm

Officers learned through an investigation that a convicted felon living on the 1700 block of Newcomb had possibly been involved in a shots fired incident on the previous night. They located the suspect in front of his house smoking a marijuana cigarette. He was detained and an officer conducted a pat down search of his person. The officer located a loaded 9mm semi automatic pistol concealed in the suspect’s waistband. He was arrested and booked on weapons related charges. (SFPD Case No. 160182308)

Auto Burglary Arrest – 2900 block 3rd – 3/4/16, 7:15 am

Officers responded to a call of a victim of an auto burglary following the thief. They located the victim on 23rd and 3rd. He pointed out the suspect and his companion who the officers then detained. The victim stated that a coworker ran into their place of employment and told him that the suspect was outside rummaging through his car. The victim ran out just in time to see the suspect and his companion walking away from the boosted vehicle. The officers detained the pair and found the suspect to be in possession of property that had been stolen from the victim’s car. He was arrested and booked on auto burglary charges. Narcotics Arrest – 20th / Tennessee – 3/4/16, 9:45 am

Officers patrolling the area came upon a subject standing in front of a MUNI bus, while arguing with the driver. They intervened and one officer began talking to the subject as the other spoke to the driver of the bus. The driver stated that the subject had hung his bike on the bus’ rack in front but then did not pay his fair or produce a transfer. He then refused to remove the bike. The officer talking to the suspect noticed a clear container in the front of the suspect’s sweatshirt pocket that became visible when the suspect flapped his arms around in frustration while telling his side of the argument. The officer could clearly see that the container held several dark and light colored rocks, similar in appearance to individually wrapped heroin and methamphetamine rocks. He was detained as the officer confirmed what the items were and was subsequently arrested after 17 twists of heroin and 13 twists of powder meth were recovered from the container. The suspect was booked on possession of narcotics for sale charges. (SFPD Case No. 160187790)

Firearm Arrest – 1200 block Egbert – 3/04/16, 10:28 am

Officers driving in the area noticed a suspect walking down the street that they recognized as wanted in connection to a residential burglary that occurred in South San Francisco. As soon as he saw the officers, the suspect ran to his home and began banging on the door, asking to be let in. The officers caught up with him just as they closed in, the front door opened and the suspect ran inside. The officers, in hot pursuit, gained entry into the residence and located the suspect attempted to gain entry and got past a barricade that was placed to block the front door. They found the suspect inside and contacted SSFPD. The investigating officers of that agency responded to the suspect’s home with a search warrant. A loaded .25 caliber handgun was recovered from inside the residence. The suspect was booked in accordance with his original charges stemming out of San Mateo County as well as the weapons violations. (SFPD Case No. 160187869)

Narcotics Arrest – 3rd / Palou – 3/5/16, 12:56 pm

Officers conducting narcotics surveillance in the area spotted a drug transaction take place inside of Mendell Plaza and arrested both the dealer and buyer. They located nearly 150 hydrocodone pills in the dealer’s possession along with a large amount of cash. He was booked on sales of narcotics charges along with a warrant for his arrest. (SFPD Case No. 160191315)

Homicide Arrest – 200 block Harbor – 3/5/16, 3:45 pm

Officers responded to a call of a fight at a residence and located an 18 year old male victim inside who had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 42 year old suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting and booked on homicide charges. (SFPD Case No. 160191741)

Narcotics Arrest – 1700 block Quesada – 3/6/16, 9:06 am

Officers conducting narcotics surveillance in the area spotted a drug transaction mid block on Quesada. A subject had approached the suspect and after exchanging words, the suspect removed a plastic bag containing several white rocks from his pocket, removed some, and gave them to the subject who in turn gave him some cash. She walked away from the suspect where she was stopped by officers. The item that she had purchased was still in her hand and after determining that the item was in fact crack cocaine, other officers moved to arrest the dealer. He was found with additional crack cocaine in his possession and was arrested. He was booked on sales of narcotics charges. (SFPD Case No. 160192965)

Narcotics Arrest – 3rd / Quesada – 3/6/16, 9:40 am

Officers conducting narcotics surveillance in the area spotted a drug transaction in the area. One subject yelled to another, who was down the block, that he needed a “dub”. A “dub” in street terms means $20 worth of marijuana or other drug. The suspect that he called to casually walked over to him and handed him a baggy of marijuana. The subject took the bag, smelled it, proclaimed “that’s good”, and handed over some money. The undercover officers promptly detained the pair. The dealer was booked on narcotics sales charges and the buyer was cited from the scene. (SFPD Case No. 160192993)

Aggravated Assault Arrest – unit block Dakota – 3/6/16, 8:30 pm

Officers responded to a call of an altercation and detained the two parties involved. They learned through their investigation that the two women had begun to argue in the home and the fight quickly turned physical. One of them grabbed an empty liquor bottle and broke it over the other’s head, causing injuries. She was arrested and the victim received medical treatment. The suspect was booked on aggravated assault charges. (SFPD Case No. 160194795)

Shooting – 1800 block 25th – 3/7/16, 7:30 am

Officers responded to a call of a shooting and located a 21 year old male victim in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately rendered aid and transported to SFGH for treatment. The officers’ investigation led them to a nearby apartment inside which the shooting took place. A suspect was identified but could not be located that day. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160195442)

Robbery – Las Villas / La Salle – 3/7/16, 8:00 pm

An officer on patrol was approached by a UPS driver who reported that he had been robbed. He said that he had been arranging the boxes when a suspect entered the delivery vehicle and pushed him against the interior cargo wall. A second suspect boarded the truck and stole eight packages. Both suspects then fled the scene. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 160197551)
