                     HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS

  • Make your home appear occupied by putting lights and televisions on timers when no one is home.
  • Use motion-sensing exterior lighting and keep the perimeter of your home lighted.
  • Increase exterior security to make home more difficult to enter.
  • If on vacation, have the post office hold your mail, or have a neighbor collect the mail.
  • Turn on alarm system when absent.
  • Keep all exterior doors locked, using deadbolts. Keep the garage door closed and locked.
  • Always lock your vehicle, no matter where it is parked.
  • Do not leave valuable in view, especially electronic and GPS devices.
  • Be an observant neighbor. Notify police of suspicious activity in your neighborhood.



Stabbing– Tennessee / 23rd – 12/13/15, 3:30 am

Officers responded to SFGH on a report of a stabbing. They met with the 52 year old male victim who was being treated for a stab wound to his neck. He told the officers that the suspect was a friend of his who he had argued with over money. The suspect, during the course of the argument, stabbed the victim with a knife. The suspect then fled and the victim secured a ride to the hospital with a friend. The suspects identifying information was provided to the officers. An arrest warrant is pending.  Auto Burglary Arrest– 1400 block Donner – 12/13/15, 11:12 am

Officers responded to a call of an auto burglary and met with the victim who stated that tools had been stolen out of his parked vehicle. The suspect was described to the officers who began to search the area. The suspect was located at Armstrong and Keith. She was detained and positively identified. The stolen items were found in her possession. She was booked on auto burglary charges as well as multiple warrants for her arrest. (SFPD Case No. 151076207)


 Vehicular Manslaughter Arrest – 500 block Goettingen – 12/14/15, 10:15 am

A 63 year old male bicyclist, pedaling northbound, was struck by a vehicle driving southbound. The victim succumbed to his grave injuries and died at the scene. The responding officers’ investigation led them to arrest the driver of the car involved in the collision. He was booked on multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.  Narcotics Arrest – 1600 block Oakdale – 12/14/15, 4:40 pm

Officers stopped a car for a traffic violation and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. One of them was on active parole with a search condition. A search of his person revealed 85 individually wrapped bindles of heroin, packaged for the purpose of sales. He was arrested and booked on narcotics for the purpose of sales charges.
