May 5, 2015 Bayview Newsletter

Captain’s Remarks:

I have been meeting more people everyday here in the Bayview!   I went to the Potrero Boosters meeting this week and got a chance to meet people and introduce myself.   Please come by my first community meeting on May 5th, 6PM, here at Bayview’s Community Room.

I wanted to update you about the shooting that occurred on the T-line on Monday at about 12:20PM.    As the MUNI T-line stopped at the 3rd and Palou stop, two men were on the train, when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot a 20 year old male.   The victim was shot in the head and suspect fled on foot.  Bayview Investigators, CSI, MUNI Task Force Units, and Bayview Plainclothes units worked non-stop on this case and an arrest was made on Wed.   A large caliber handgun was also recovered during the arrest of the Suspect in the area of Haight and Buena Vista Park.    The officers and investigators did a great job to get his suspect into custody!  The long hours, community outreach, and non-stop follow-up paid off.     At this point the case is still being investigated, so I can’t disclose the motive for the shooting.
