Firearm Arrest:

After an in depth investigation into a suspect who was arrested with a gun on February 23rd, inspectors were able to determine the identity of another suspect also possibly in possession of a firearm. On March 6th, they were able to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and person. At 11:00, the warrant was served at an apartment on the 1800 block of 25th. The officers located a 12 gauge shotgun as well as ammunition in the house. The suspect was arrested and booked on weapons violations at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 150162536)

Armed Robbery:

On March 6th at 9:30 pm, a 33 year old victim was robbed in the area of Keith and Revere. He told the responding officers that he had just parked his van and was still seated in the driver’s seat when the vehicle was surrounded by up to five suspects. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his property. Out of fear for his life, the victim handed over his wallet and the suspects fled on foot. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150204398)

Armed Robbery:

On March 6th at 10:50 pm, a 26 year old victim was robbed on the 1400 block of Kirkwood. She told the responding officers that she had just parked her car and was sitting in the driver’s seat while texting on her phone when the driver’s door suddenly flung open. Two suspects were standing at the door. One of them pointed a gun at the victim and demanded her purse. A second suspect appeared behind the first and grabbed the victim’s purse as soon as she got it from her passenger seat. The suspect with the gun then snatched the victim’s phone from her hands. The suspect fired the handgun into the air prior to fleeing on foot. The officers searched the area for both suspect but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. Attempted Homicide Arrest:

On March 7th at 1:20 pm, officers responded to a call of an assault in the area of 3rd and Hudson. They located a 42 year old male victim who had suffered multiple lacerations and stab wounds to the head, neck and back. He was rendered aid and transported to SFGH for treatment for his injuries. The officers conducting the investigation were able to obtain a suspect description from witnesses and to locate video surveillance footage from a nearby camera that captured the incident. The officers located the suspect on the 1400 block of Palou and placed him under arrest. He was booked for attempted homicide at County Jail. (SFPD Case No. 150206178)

Firearm, Narcotics Arrest:

On March 8th at 5:30 pm, officers patrolling at Harbor and Northridge observed a crowd of subjects, many of whom were known Big Block gang members, congregating in the area. The officers inquired as to what was going on and were told by one of the subjects that they were getting ready to shoot a rap video. The officers left the scene but positioned themselves in an area of concealment and watched. One of the members of the group was seen producing a handgun and racking a round into the chamber. None of the subject around him appeared alarmed at the sight of the gun. The officers, along with back up units, detained the group and arrested the suspect with the weapon. The loaded .40 caliber semi automatic pistol was recovered. During a pat search of another suspect, a bag containing 12-15 rocks crack cocaine fell from his pant leg. He was arrested as well. Both suspects were booked at Bayview Station on their respective charges. The remaining subjects were identified, investigated, and released from the scene. (SFPD Case No. 150209417)

Burglary Arrest:

On March 9th at 4:30 am, officers responded to a storage facility on the 2000 block of Evans on a call of a possible burglary. They searched the facility and found both suspects. One was inside a storage room while the other was waiting besides another storage room. The officers learned through their investigation that one of the suspects had a contract for the storage locker that he had been standing in front of. His companion, who was found in the open storage locker removing items, had no business in that area. He was arrested and searched. The broken lock, removed from the storage room that the suspect was burglarizing, was found on his person. The facility manager confirmed that both suspects often frequent the storage facility during non-operating hours. This was confirmed by video evidence. Both suspect had locks and burglary tools in their possession that were discovered on their arrest. Both suspects were booked on burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy charges at Bayview Station. An investigation into their possible involvement in the rash of storage unit burglaries in the same facility is ongoing. (SFPD Case No. 150210975)

Shooting:

On March 9th at 6:50 am, officers responded to a call of a shooting on the 1000 block of Griffith. They located a 30 year old male victim, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, lying on the ground. He was transported to SFGH for treatment. The officers secured the crime scene and preserved all evidence. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150210696)

Auto Burglary Arrest:

On March 9th at 12:00 pm, plainclothes officers patrolling in the area of 3rd and 25th spotted a subject that they recognized driving a vehicle in the area. The officers knew the suspect as a documented Oakdale Mob gang member who was on active probation with a search condition. He had two passengers in the car with him. The officers followed the car at a distance and watched as it stopped in the area Illinois and Marin. One of the passengers got out and began casing the parked cars along the street. The officers watched as the suspect broke into a truck, setting off the alarm, before running off with a box in his arms. The suspect got back into the waiting vehicle which then drove from the scene. The officers followed the suspects as they waited for black and white units to respond. At one point, the suspect vehicle pulled over and the officers saw one of the passengers step out with the stolen box. He put the box into the trunk before getting back into the vehicle which drove off once again. When the patrol units arrived and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the suspects’ vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended when he pulled into the Post Office parking lot on the 1300 block of Evans and had nowhere left to flee. All three suspects were taken into custody. The owner of the boosted truck was located and confirmed that his vehicle had in fact been burglarized and that a computer that was inside of a box had been taken. The stolen computer was located in the trunk of the suspects’ vehicle. All three suspects were booked at Bayview Station on auto burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy charges along with a gang enhancement. (SFPD Case No. 150211393)

Hot Prowl Burglary:

On March 10th at 2:50 am, officers responded to a home on the 1400 block of Palou on a call of a burglary in progress. They arrived to find the exterior door leading to the garage broken. Once inside the garage, they found that another door leading to a living space had been broken as well. The officers met with the resident of the home who stated that she heard a loud banging sound and went to investigate. She saw a suspect standing in her broken doorway and began to scream. The suspect then ran away without entering the living area. The officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him that morning. This incident is under investigation. Shooting:

On March 10th at 10:24 am, officers responded to the 100 block of Kirkwood on a call of shots fired. They located a crime scene and several bullet casings in the street. They learned through a witness that the victim of the shooting had driven himself to SFGH. The officers responded to the hospital where they located the 21 year old male victim being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The officers interviewed witnesses and secured all evidence. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150214654)

Firearm Arrest:

On March 10th at 4:45 pm, officers in the area of West Point and Middle Point spotted a vehicle in the area that matched the description of the suspect vehicle related to an earlier shooting that occurred on the 100 block of Kirkwood.   There were numerous subjects standing around the car and one of the car doors was wide open. As soon as one of the subjects saw the patrol car, he immediately turned away and removed and item from his waistband. He then tossed the item into the back seat of the vehicle. He then shut the car door and began to walk away. Another subject then got out of the backseat of the car and walked away as well. Both subjects were detained and another unit responded and detained the remaining individuals still inside the vehicle as well as those surrounding the car. The officers located a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine in plain view inside the vehicle. They found a loaded .45 caliber pistol under the front passenger seat as well as a loaded 9mm semi automatic with an obliterated serial number in the rear seat pocket. The officers’ investigation led to the arrest of five of the nine individuals detained. They were booked on various weapons violations along with conspiracy and gang enhancement charges.
