Carjacking Arrest:

On February 20th at 11:15 pm, officers responded, to Osceola and LaSalle on a report of a carjacking. They met with the 19 year old victim who told them that her car had been stolen from a gas station at 3rd and Evans. She explained that she had parked her car at a pump and had exited the vehicle to pay at the cash booth. She noticed a car driving along 3rd St. that was occupied by three suspects that the victim knew from the neighborhood. The suspects were all gang members who did not get along with the victim. The victim told the officers that as soon as she was spotted, the suspects drove into the lot and pulled up beside her. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and threatened to shoot her. The victim, fearing for her life, ran across the street and flagged down a passerby who agreed to drive her from the scene. As the victim drove away, she saw one of the suspects get into her vehicle and drive it from the gas station. He was followed by his companions in their car. The victim identified the suspects to the officers who were familiar with all three from previous contacts. The officers searching the area found the victims car abandoned at 3rd and Evans with damage to the front end. A witness told the officers that the vehicle had been driven to the location by a suspect who left it there after being picked up by another car. The officers searched the area for the suspects and located two out of the three. One suspect was arrested on the unit block of Navy Road and another was found and apprehended on the 1400 block of Oakdale. They were booked on robbery, auto theft, aggravated assault, and conspiracy charges along with a gang enhancement at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 150158836)

Armed Robbery Attempt:

On February 21st at 9:10 am, a 26 year old victim was walking in the area of Brussels and Wayland when she passed two suspects standing outside of a small grey coupe. One of the suspects approached the victim, pointed a handgun at her, and demanded her money. In disbelief, the victim asked the suspect if he was actually serious and flagged down a passing vehicle for help. The two suspects then got into their vehicle and drove from the scene. The responding officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that day. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150159583)

Auto Theft Arrest:

On February 21st at 2:10 pm, officers patrolling in the area of Palou and Newhall saw a suspect who they recognized from prior contacts and knew to be on active felony probation with a search condition. He was seated on a motorcycle that was stopped in the street. The officers attempted to make contact with the suspect at which point he promptly started the bike and drove from the scene. A record check revealed that the motorcycle had been reported as stolen. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed, ran multiple stop signs, and drove with a general disregard with the safety of others on the roadway. In the interest of public safety, the officers disengaged their pursuit. Other officers in the area soon spotted the suspect ditching the bike and throwing off his helmet on the 1400 block of Newcomb. He was apprehended as he tried to make entry into a residence on the block. He was booked on auto theft and felony evading charges along with a probation violation at Bayview Station. Firearm Arrest:

On February 21st at 1:30 pm, officers in the area of 25th and Wisconsin spotted a suspect, who had been reported as armed with a handgun, getting out of his vehicle. The officers approached the suspect at which point he fled into a nearby unit. The officers, believing that the suspect was concealing a firearm on his person, gave chase and followed him into the unit. The suspect ran into the kitchen where he threw a metallic sounding item to the floor before coming out and surrendering. The officers looked in the kitchen and located a loaded 9mm handgun lying on the floor. The suspect was booked on weapons violations at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 150163067)

Auto Theft, Firearm Arrest:

On February 23rd at 8:00 am, an officer patrolling on the 900 block of Connecticut was alerted via his patrol vehicles automated license plate reader that he had just passed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen. As the officer backed up his unit to look for the car, the vehicle in question suddenly sped off. The officer followed the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it. The suspect refused to yield and continued at a high rate speed, sideswiping another vehicle at 25th and Dakota. Other units responded to the area and spotted the stolen vehicle heading towards Hunters View. By this time the vehicle had blown a tire and the officers knew that the suspect would be abandoning it soon. The vehicle was seen turning onto Acacia St. where the suspect got out after colliding with a parked car and fled on foot towards Middle Point Road. He was then apprehended without incident. A loaded 9mm pistol was found inside his jacket. The suspect, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing any weapons was booed at Bayview Station on auto theft, possession of stolen property, and firearm offences. (SFPD Case No. 150162536)
