Shots Fired:

On January 29th at 2:42 pm, an officer patrolling in the area of 3rd and LaSalle heard gunshots and immediately responded to their source on the 4500 block of 3rd. He caught a glimpse of a dark vehicle driving off at a high rate of speed. A witness told the officer that the dark vehicle had been shot at by a silver vehicle that had also fled the scene. Officers searched the area for both cars and located the dark vehicle, which had sustained gunshot damage, along with its driver. The victim driver had not been injured. No other injuries or damage were reported as a result of this shooting, which is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150089015)

Auto Theft Arrest:

On January 3rd at 4:46 pm, officers responded to a call of indecent activity taking place inside a truck parked on the unit block of Bowman Court. The officers arrived to find the driver of the truck standing outside his car door with his pants down. His companion, also naked from the waist down, was in the passenger seat. A record check revealed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen. The driver was placed under arrest. A search of the suspect revealed methamphetamine in one of his pockets along with a shaved vehicle key (commonly used to start stolen vehicles). The suspect, already on active probation, was booked at Bayview Station on auto theft, narcotics possession, and probation violation charges. (SFPD Case No. 150092557)

Firearm Arrest:

On January 30th at 10:40 pm, officers responded to a call of vehicles drag racing inside the Candlestick parking lot. They arrived to find multiple vehicles in the area that all took off as the patrol car drove near. The officers saw one of the vehicles swerve into the traffic on Jamestown while narrowly missing colliding with another car. They pulled the car over at Jamestown and Harney. When the officers approached the vehicle, they smelled burnt marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment. They also saw a set of brass knuckles sitting on the center consul as well as baggies of cocaine and marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest. One of his passengers was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun and was also arrested. Both suspects were booked at Bayview Station on weapons and narcotics violations.  (SFPD Case No. 150093555)

Shooting:

On January 31st at 1:10 am, officers responded to Palou and Ingalls on a call of shots fired. They located multiple spent shell casings in the street as well as three parked vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire. During the course of their investigation, the officers learned that a victim of the shooting, a 31 year old male, had driven himself SFGH. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He told the officers that he had been driving in the area when he heard gunshots and realized that he had been hit. He is expected to recover. The officers secured the crime scene and preserved all evidence. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150093834)

Robbery:

On January 31st at 2:30 am, a 26 year old victim was robbed while riding the MUNI train at 3rd and Palou. He told the responding officers that he was seated on the bus while talking on his cell phone when a suspect, who was also on the bus, suddenly grabbed the phone away from him. The suspect then punched the victim in the face and ran off the bus. The officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him that morning. The video surveillance footage from the MUNI coach which may have captured the crime is pending. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150093981)

Hot Prowl Burglary:

On February 1st at 1:55 am, officers responded on a call of a hot prowl burglary on the 500 block of Wisconsin. They met with the resident who stated that she was asleep in her bed when she awoke to the sound of her bedroom door opening. She looked up and saw a suspect in her doorway. The victim screamed at which point the suspect said, “sorry” and closed the door. The victim yelled to her roommate who came to her aid. The suspect had already fled the residence. The victim told the officers that she had arrived home earlier that night through a ride share service and had accidently left her car and house keys in the vehicle. When she contacted the ride share company, she was advised that the driver had marked her as a no show and no fare had been collected. When the officers asked the victim to locate her personal car, she found that it was no longer where she had parked it and had apparently been stolen. CSI responded to the scene to collect any evidence possibly left behind by the suspect. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150096690)

Homicide:

On February 1st at 9:03 am, officers responded to a call of a stabbing on the 1400 block of McKinnon. The officers were provided with the unit number and were informed that the suspect was still inside. On arrival, the officers located the 36 year old victim inside the unit with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The officers secured the crime scene, preserved all evidence, and obtained witness statements. The suspect had fled prior to the officers’ arrival, but is believed to have been identified. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150097137)

Armed Robbery:

On February 2nd at 9:50 pm, a 40 year old victim was walking on the unit block of Charter Oak when he was approached by two suspects. Both suspects were armed, one with a knife and the other with a gun. The suspects threatened the victim with the weapons as they demanded his property. The victim, fearing for his life, handed the suspects his wallet. Both suspects fled on foot. The responding officers searched for the suspects but were unable to locate either that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150099177)

Robbery:

On February 2nd at 3:30 am, a 57 year old victim was robbed at 3rd and Shafter. He told the responding officers that he had been walking in the area when he was approached by two suspects from behind. The victim was struck in the head and fell to the ground at which point the suspects robbed him of his backpack, cell phone, and wallet. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that morning. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No.150099581)
