Recovered Firearms:

On January 12th at 2:10 pm, officers patrolling at 3rd and Quesada, an area known for gang activity, decided to search the public garden on the 1700 block of Quesada for weapons. Weapons had been previously found in the area that had been stashed by gang members and/associates for easy access. During the search, the officers located a .45 caliber handgun concealed under a rock beneath some bushes. The weapon was recovered and booked into evidence at Bayview Station. Similarly, on January 19th at 3:50 pm, officers found a 380 caliber pistol in a fast food bag concealed under some garbage in the area of Quesada and Hawes. The find came after a resident in the area called to complain about drug activity on the corner. The weapon was booked at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 150057620)

Burglary Arrest:

On January 17th at 12:36 pm, officers responded to a burglary in progress on the 2500 block of Marin. Two suspects were seen breaking into a trailer in the area and removing items that they were then seen loading into a truck. The arriving officers located the trailer in question and noticed that the door had been broken open. They entered and located both suspects inside and placed them under arrest. The officers found stolen property in the suspects’ possession as well as in their vehicle. A record check revealed that the car that the suspects were using had been reported as stolen. The suspects were booked at Bayview Station on burglary, auto theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 150051462)

Shooting:

On January 17th at 11:17 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Wisconsin on a call of a shooting. They located a 34 year old male victim, with a gunshot wound to the thigh, lying on the sidewalk. He was not cooperative with providing information regarding the incident to the officers. He was transported to SFGH for treatment of his non- life threatening injuries. A second victim of the shooting, a 33 year old male who had been shot in the foot, showed up at the hospital. He had been driven there from the scene of the shooting. The officers’ investigation led them to the crime scene on the 900 block of Connecticut where the incident actually occurred. There they located several parked vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire. The officers secured the crime scene and preserved all evidence. This incident is under investigation. Auto Theft Arrest:

On January 18th at 4:00 pm, officers patrolling in the area of Quint and Davidson spotted a group of off-road motorcyclists congregated on the corner. Many were not wearing helmets and most of the bikes had no license plates. As the officers drove up, the majority of the riders sped off on the bikes. One was left at the scene, as he was having trouble starting the ignition. When the officers approached the suspect dropped the motorcycle to the ground and took off running. The officers gave chase and successfully apprehended him nearby. A record check revealed that the bike had been reported as stolen. The suspect was placed under arrest and was booked at Bayview Station on multiple charges including auto theft. (SFPD Case No. 140718531)

Auto Theft Arrest:

On January 19th at 8:50 am, officers responded to a home on the 1400 block of Thomas to take an auto theft report. The owner of the vehicle stated that her car was stolen from the front of her home sometime during the night. The officers took the report and began to search the area for the vehicle. As they were driving in the area of Oakdale and Baldwin, they spotted the stolen car being driven towards them by the suspect. When the vehicle passed by, the officers made a u-turn to follow the car. The suspect then made a quick turn onto Palou and accelerated. The suspect then pulled into a parking lot on the 1300 block of Ingalls. Having no route of escape, the suspect got out of the car and jumped on the roof of the vehicle where he stayed until the officers were able to pull him off. The suspect, a parolee, was arrested and booked at Bayview Station on auto theft, possession of stolen property. (SFPD Case No. 150056525)

Armed Robbery Attempt:

On January 19th at 10:45 pm, a 63 year old victim was walking on the 500 block of Blanken when he realized that he was being followed by four suspects. One of the suspects ran up to him and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect shouted something that the victim could not understand. He then struck the victim on the head with the butt of the gun. The remaining suspects converged on the victim but were scared away when a car drove past, causing them to flee the scene without stealing anything from the victim. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150058775)

Robbery:

On January 20th at 11:40 pm, a 29 year old victim was robbed on the 2000 block of Lane. She told the responding officers that she had been in the process of locking her bike to a bike rack in the area when a suspect suddenly approached her and shoved her to the ground. He then stole the victim’

s bicycle and rode it away. The officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him that day. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150059933)
