On January 12th at 2:50 am, a 36 year old victim was robbed in the area of Silver and University. She told the responding officers that she had been walking in the area while talking on her cell phone when she noticed a red van pass her. The van made a U-turn and stopped near the victim. Te driver got out of the van and asked the victim for the time. She responded to him and kept walking. The suspect then approached her and grabbed her phone from her hand. He pushed her and ripped her purse from her shoulder before getting back into the van and driving off. The officers searched the area for the suspect and his vehicle but were unable to locate him that morning. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150033589)



Firearm Arrest:

On January 12th at 1:45 pm, officers responded to the area of Palou and Newhall on a call of a subject with a gun. They spotted a group of subjects, who the officers recognized as known “Quesada Street” gang members, loitering on the corner. Several of the subjects had been arrested on previous occasions for firearm offenses. The officers approached the group and in doing so, noticed a heavy odor of burnt marijuana particularly strong on one of the subjects. The officers inquired about the odor and the subject admitted to having just smoked some weed. The officers searched the subject for additional narcotics and located a loaded .38 caliber pistol inside his backpack. He was placed under arrest and was booked on weapons related charges. His companions were investigated and released from the scene. (SFPD Case No. 150034941)


Robbery Arrest:

On January 12th at 4:15 pm, officers responded to the 2400 block of San Bruno on a report of a robbery. They located the 33 year old victim, who had been pepper sprayed and beaten up. She told the offices that she was attacked by several female suspects as she walked along the street. The victim stated that she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to face the suspect who sprayed pepper spray in her face. The victim was then pushed to the ground where all four suspects attempted to pry the victim’s phone from her hand but were unsuccessful. The suspects then fled on foot. The officers searched the area and located four suspects who matched the description provided at Brussels and Burrows. They were detained and the victim was able to identify the suspect who sprayed her with pepper spray. That suspect was placed under arrest. The remaining subjects were identified and investigated prior to being released pending further investigation. The 16 year old suspect was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on attempted robbery, aggravated assault, and conspiracy charges. (SFPD Case No. 150035472)


Hot Prowl Burglary:

On January 12th at 6:20 pm, officers responded to the unit block of Reddy on a call of a hot prowl burglary. They met with the resident who stated that he was upstairs in his home when he heard a commotion coming from the lower lever. He descended his stairs to find a suspect in the middle of breaking down his backdoor that led to the yard. The victim yelled at the suspect who then fled the scene. The officers searched the area but were unable to locate him that evening. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150035842)


Firearm Arrest:

On January 12th at 8:00 pm, officers patrolling in the area of Thomas and Keith approached two subjects who were walking in the middle of the roadway. One of the subjects immediately concealed one of his arms in his jacket and grabbed his waistband as he attempted to walk away. He was detained and the officers conducted a pat search of his person. The officers discovered that the suspect had a loaded 380 handgun, with the hammer cocked back, concealed in his waistband. The suspect, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing weapons, was booked at Bayview Station on weapons charges. His companion was identified, investigated, and released from the scene. Firearm Arrest:

On January 13th at 2:30 pm, officers conducting foot patrol in the area of Westpoint and Middlepoint. They spotted a suspect, who they recognized from previous contacts, open the door to his unit and step outside. The suspect did not see the officers but the officers watched as he scanned the area outside his front door while holding a handgun. The suspect then walked back into the unit and closed the door. The officers were familiar with the juvenile suspect and knew him to be on felony probation with a search condition. They knocked on the door and noticed the suspect peek out at them through a window. He did not immediately open the door. The officers continued to knock and detained the suspect when he finally answered. A record check revealed that he had an active felony burglary warrant for his arrest. A search of the residence revealed that handgun that the suspect was seen with. The loaded 380 semi automatic pistol was found on the floor of the kitchen utility closet. The suspect was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on the weapons and warrant charges. (SFPD Case No. 150038266)



Armed Robbery:

On January 13th at 6:15 pm, an 18 year old victim was robbed in the area of Palou and Keith. He told the responding officers that a suspect approached him as he was walking along the street and punched him in the face. The suspect then pushed the victim two the ground at which point two additional suspects joined in. One of them brandished a handgun at the victim as the others removed the victim’s backpack and took his cell phone from his pocket. All three suspects fled on foot. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 150039117)
