December 19, 2014 Update

On December 16th at 3:30 am, a 25 year old victim parked her car on the 1000 block of Bowdoin and walked up to her home. As she was attempting to open her front door, she was surrounded by three subjects who appeared from behind a nearby bush. One of the suspects grabbed her purse from her shoulder and ran off with one of the other subjects. The third suspect stayed behind and ordered her to surrender her car keys. The victim, in fear for her life, complied. The suspect removed the vehicle keys from the house keys, which he returned to the victim. He was last seen getting into the victim’s vehicle and driving off south on Bowdoin. The responding officers searched for the suspects and stolen vehicle but were unable to locate them that morning. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 141055277)

Hot Prowl Burglary:

On December 17th at 11:00 am, two residents of a home on the 3100 block of Jennings noticed that a bedroom door in their home was closed and locked from the inside. They became alarmed since they were the only two occupants and the bedroom door was typically left open. The victims forced their way into the room and found that all the drawers in the dresser had been rifled through and that numerous pieces of jewelry had been stolen. They also noticed that the bedroom’s previously closed window was wide open. The victims told the responding officers that the burglary had occurred while they were watching a movie in another room. Crime Scene Investigations responded to collect any evidence that the suspect(s) may have left behind. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 141059633)

Shooting Arrest:

On December 18th at 2:25 pm, officers patrolling in the area of Oakdale and Mendell heard several gunshots coming from the area of 3rd and Quesada and immediately responded to the location. They found broken glass and spent shell casings in the street. The officers spoke with witnesses who provided them with a suspect and vehicle description. The officers searched the area and located the vehicle described as being involved in the incident parked a block away. It had been riddled with bullets. During the course of their investigation, the officers located a subject who matched the description of the shooter. He was detained and was positively identified. A record check revealed that the suspect, a documented “Quesada Street” gang member, had a $25,000 warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and a gunshot residue test was conducted to detect if he had in fact recently fired a handgun. The suspect was booked on multiple firearm discharge violations as well as his warrant at Bayview Station. The officers searched the area for possible victims and additional damage but were unable to locate any that day. (SFPD Case No. 141062658)
