November 21, 2014 Update

Armed Robbery:

On November 18th at 9:30 pm, a victim was robbed while walking in an alley on the 2400 block of San Bruno towards Girard. The victim told the responding officers that he was taking the shortcut when he was suddenly surrounded by three suspects. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun which he pointed at the victim and demanded his property. The victim surrendered his bag, wallet and cell phone to the suspects. He asked the suspects for his school work and textbooks back and the suspects returned the items before taking off on foot. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 140978917)

Robbery:

On November 19th at 12:45 pm, officers responded on a call of a robbery that occurred at Whitney Young and Progress Ct. They met with the victim who told them that after getting off a bus in the area, she proceeded to walk home when she was approached by four suspects who demanded her bag. She turned and tried to walk away from the suspects at which point one of them hit her on the head and pulled her backpack from her shoulders. The suspects went through her backpack, removed her valuables, and discarded the rest of the items before fleeing on foot. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that day. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 140980439)

Auto Theft Arrest:

On November 19th at 6:20 pm, a suspect entered the DHL delivery facility on the 400 block of 23rd St and began rummaging through the delivery trucks at the warehouse. He was confronted by employees but became belligerent and continued to climb in and out of the vans. The police were called but the suspect managed to start one of the vans with the keys he found inside the cab and drove out of the warehouse. The responding officers were able to track the van via its GPS locating system to the area of 25th and Michigan. They located the abandoned van in a MUNI yard at the location and learned from a witness that the suspect was seen getting out of the van and running west on 23rd St. The officers searched the area and located the suspect at a gas station on 3rd and 25th where he was positively identified. The suspect was arrested and booked at Bayview Station on multiple charges, including auto theft, burglary, and possession of stolen property. (SFPD Case No. 140981534)

Robbery Arrest:

On November 19th at 9:30 pm, a 22 year old victim was robbed by his acquaintance after the two got into an argument on the 2600 block of San Bruno. The victim told the responding officers that the suspect kicked him in the head, pulled out a knife, and threatened to stab him. The victim, fearing for his life, dropped his backpack and cell phone. The suspect took the cell phone and ran off. The officers searched the area and located the suspect walking on the 3200 block of San Bruno. He was detained and positively identified. The suspect was placed under arrest and searched. The victim’s stolen cell phone and the knife used to threaten the victim were found in his possession. The suspect was booked on robbery and possession of stolen property charges at Bayview Station. (SFPD Case No. 140982112)

Shooting:

On November 20th at 6:20 pm, officers responded on a call of a shooting on the 1400 block of Shafter. They located a crime scene which they preserved and obtained witness statements. They learned through their investigation that the victims of the shooting were seen leaving the area in a silver vehicle. Officers responded to SFGH where the two male victims, both age 37, were located. Both suffered gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. Both are expected to recover. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 140984293)
