November 14, 2014 Update

Purse Snatch:

On November 11th at 7:30 pm, a 32 year old victim was walking in the area of McKinnon and 3rd while holding her wallet in her hand. A suspect suddenly ran by her, snatched the wallet, and continued running. The victim reported the incident the following day at Bayview Station. This incident is under investigation.  Theft from Delivery Person:

On November 12th at 10:40 pm, a pizza delivery driver pulled up to a home on the 300 block of Wayland to deliver an order. He saw two suspects sitting on the front stairs of the house. The suspects approached the driver, stated that they made the order, and attempted to pay him with a twenty dollar bill. The victim took the money and quickly realized the currency was counterfeit. He said as much to the suspects, handed the bill back, and requested to be paid with legitimate money. The two suspects then reached into the victim’s vehicle, grabbed the pizzas and other food from the seat, and ran off east on Wayland. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation.  (SFPD Case No. 140960801)

 Armed Robbery Attempt:

On November 13th at 2:00 am, officers responded on a call of a robbery attempt that occurred on the 1600 block of LaSalle. They met with the 35 year old victim. He told the officers that he had been asleep inside his house when he heard a loud knock on the front door. He opened the door to find a suspect pointing a rifle at him. Two other suspects were with the gunman and all three demanded money from the victim. The victim grabbed the rifle that the suspect was holding and wrestled with him for control of the gun. The suspect was able to retain the weapon and as he pulled free, all three suspects ran off on foot in different directions. The officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 140961031)

Shooting:

On November 13th at 8:55 pm, officers responded to the 200 block of Cameron on a report of a shooting. They located a 19 year old male victim, with a gunshot wound to his thigh, lying outside of a residence. He was immediately transported to SFGH for treatment. The officers secured the crime scene and preserved all evidence along with witness statements. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 140963322)

 Vandalism Arrest:

On November 14th at 4:40 am, officers patrolling in the area of 3rd and Newcomb were flagged down by a victim of vandalism. She showed the officers her broken car window and told them that she knew who the suspect was. The victim directed the officers to the suspect on the 1600 block of LaSalle. The suspect admitted to having broken the window as a result of an argument over a boyfriend. The suspect was placed under arrest. She was cited and released for the misdemeanor violation at the scene. (SFPD Case No. 140963996)

Bayview Station holds community meetings with the Captain on the first Tuesday of each month.
